Job Description:

Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with leadership to deliver high quality internal service to WyHy employees.
  • Effectively communicate employee needs to leadership while balancing organizational objectives and business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations while establishing an effective organizational culture for employee success.
  • Maintain, update, and ensure understanding and compliance with all HR Policies.
  • Responsible for hiring and recruitment, onboarding and offboarding of all employees.
  • Direct and oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Manage payroll system; work with Accounting to ensure payroll is submitted and correct.
  • Direct Computer Based Training (CBT) by selecting suitable provider and working with business unit leaders to advance appropriate training and development of staff.  Records staff accomplishments.
  • Ensure required trainings are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain accountability for timely project management, goal progression and budget within areas of responsibility.
  • Support business plan and strategic initiatives set by the President/CEO and the Board of Directors.
  • Attend board meetings reporting on assigned areas and strategic objectives.
  • Keep the President/CEO aware of updates and key events within assigned areas and business units.
  • Participate in budget preparation and coordinate with President/CEO to ensure budgeted goals and cost objectives are met.
  • Partner effectively with stakeholders in creating and reviewing policies and procedures which contribute to operational effectiveness and if applicable, mitigate unnecessary risks. Monitor regulatory changes to ensure appropriate policies and procedures are compliant.
  • Responsible for compliance with policies, procedures, laws and applicable regulations within assigned business units and area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for oversight of vendor management & third-party due diligence processes within areas of responsibility.
  • Consistently work to achieve short-term and long-term objectives, including the established strategic objectives, contributing to organizational success.
  • Deliver status updates and reports regarding strategic initiatives and other key indicators in a timely manner to leadership.
  • Participate in continuing education as approved.

  • Member of Leadership Team.
  • Optional Member of Management Asset Liability Committee (MALCO).
  • Optional Member of Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).
  • Member of Risk Management Committee (RMCO).
  • Member of Internal Compliance Committee (ICC).
  • Member of the Crisis Management Team (CRT).

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Five years of human resource management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing and FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act).

Preferred Education and Experience

  • HR Certification (HR Certification Institute – HRCI or Society for Human Resource Management – SHRM).
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a credit union or financial institution.
  • Experience in digital-first service delivery.

  • Proven project management skills.

Position Requirements

  • Core operating hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MT, Monday – Friday.  May require occasional travel, sometimes overnight, as well as after-hours functions.
  • Requirement to be bonded. Successful background check including personal credit report and criminal record.
  • Maintain an active community presence via volunteerism, social, trade and credit union organizations, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • While this position is primarily sedentary, while performing the essential duties of the position the employee may be required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, talk, see and hear. The nature of this position requires physical mobility and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move a maximum of 50 pounds with assistance. This position may include prolonged periods of time working on a computer and looking at a monitor screen.
