Job Description:

  • This position is in-office five days a week, no remote option at this time.

    Core Job Requirements

    • Effectively manage multiple loan systems to ensure loan decisions are completed in a timely and effective manner.
    • Manage CUDL pipeline, including new CUDL memberships and dealer relationships.
    • Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules, and regulations that govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.
    • Prioritize loan files based on need and exhibit strong self-management skills.
    • Uses critical thinking and analyzing data to make decisions on complex loan requests.
    • Review and analyze all lending documentation and use critical thinking to review modification/hardship requests.
    • Research fraud alerts on credit reports and verify members’ personal identifying information.
    • Assists members in resolving problems by exercising good judgement and offering sound solutions.
    • Review loans outside of guidelines and recommend them to leadership or another approved authority for decision. Maintain production goals, including Application Volume, Approval Ratios, Delinquency, and Cross-Selling.
    • Researches and resolves member inquiries, completes appropriate documents and refers them to Accounting/Electronic Services for assistance when necessary.
    • Ability to accurately calculate debt-to-income, unsecured, and loan-to-value ratios.
    • Ability to complete income calculations and tax return analysis.
    • Organizes and prioritizes to ensure quality of work and deadlines met.
    • Help develop and maintain automated decision engines, identify anomalies, capture concerns, and relay them to leadership in real time.
    • Use creative solutions for unconventional lending requests.
    • Responsible for loan record adjustments pertaining to payment corrections, principal and interest, etc.
    • Stays informed about changes to underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
    • Completes all required training within the expected timeline.
    • Actively pursues opportunities to recommend changes to underwriting guidelines, policies, and programs.
    • Stays up-to-date on market trends and regulatory compliance changes.
    • Review of title reports and property appraisals for Home Equity lending.
    • Knowledge expert and support to staff for all generalized lending questions.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Job Experience: At least four years working in financial lending, including at least two years of collateral underwriting, including at least one year underwriting home equity loans. Experience working with and reviewing Title reports and Appraisals. Must have current NMLS or be able to obtain it within ninety days of hire.

    Software Skills: Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Proficient with XP2 and LPQ operating systems strongly preferred. Ability to think critically and analyze data to make sound decisions on complex loan requests.

    Physical Demands: Required to sit for extended periods. Noise levels are moderate in immediate area, and a standard hearing range is necessary to communicate by telephone and in person with staff and members.

    Work Conditions: Regular work day with occasional overtime. Ability to travel to branch locations. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions (robbery).

    Other Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills required to resolve member/staff questions or problems. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to complete or resume tasks despite interruptions.
