Job Description:

Our association seeks a brainy self-starter to provide our members with knowledgeable compliance guidance.  Does compliance make your heart flutter?  Do you get excited about a new regulation? Do you enjoy helping people meet challenges and solve problems?

Our six-state trade association is looking for a Compliance Manager to answer compliance questions from our members, provide regulatory information and guidance, and support for our compliance solutions, which include online databases and risk management platforms.  We are looking for someone with experience in regulatory compliance or legal services either for or with financial institutions.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations/rules and guidance affecting member credit unions and interpret changes to them. Make recommendations for appropriate actions necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Research and respond to member credit union inquiries by applying broad knowledge and understanding of all compliance functions to ensure adherence to all laws, regulations, and prudent business practices.
  • Analyze laws, regulations, and rules and write communications to member credit unions regarding new regulations and changes to existing regulations.
  • Assist the compliance team by contributing information to, performing on-going auditing of, and maintaining the Association’s Compliance Resources.
  • Coordinate and conduct trainings for member credit unions which effectively address requirements of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with legislative bill analysis and statutory research.
  • Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of compliance solutions offered by GoWest Solutions and the Association.
  • Support the management and promotion of compliance solutions offered by GoWest Solutions and the Association.
  • Serve as point of contact and provide support for compliance solutions subscribers.

The perfect candidate has superb communication skills, the ability to grasp complex subjects, and minimum of 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance.   Knowledge of and practical experience with the application of laws and regulations is a must.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but no required.

Salary ranges from $55-$68k base salary, depending on experience. This position is eligible for a variable pay program which has a potential 5% of base salary earnings.  Employees (and dependents 50%) are covered by medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability.  Employees are eligible to enroll in our 401k plan.  New employees will accrue 15 days of vacation and 8 days of paid time off. In addition, employees will enjoy eleven paid holidays and two floating holidays.
