Job Description:

  • Provide comprehensive credit analysis of new and existing commercial & industrial, and commercial real estate loan relationships. Perform due diligence of new credit opportunities, ensuring loan requests comply with loan policies and procedures, financial statement spreading, reviewing and analyzing financial information and Borrower/Guarantor credit trends, developing detailed written analysis that is comprehensive yet concise, forming an independent judgment-based risk rating opinion, and assisting the loan officer in presenting the credits for loan approval while also helping to protect the quality of the Credit Union’s loan portfolio.
  • Responsible for completing and performing the required annual loan review/renewal of existing portfolio credit relationships for the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Manages the commercial loan portfolio and perform stress-testing and historical trend and ratio analysis to properly assess cash flow, collateral, industry risks, guarantor strength and all other major risks to the Credit Union in lending to these members.
  • Serves as a contact to members on both new and existing loans; assists with loan packets and memorandums preparation and facilitating loan closings.
  • Assists with construction loans as needed, including but not limited to: ordering inspections, date down endorsements, funding of construction disbursements, and reviewing construction documentation for completion.
  • Frequently and consistently collaborates with the Commercial Lending team to complete credit analysis, portfolio reviews and portfolio management responsibilities. Frequently interact with members to gather information.
  • Identifies, makes recommendation, and collaborates with other Leads and Management to implement new ideas and/or improve the department’s operating methods, standards, training, procedures to increase effectiveness, service sensitivity and productivity.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the Commercial portfolio. Serves as a member of the Asset/ Liability Committee (ALCO) to be aware of the overall financial performance of the Credit Union and regularly review the relevance and accuracy of the ALCO model assumptions to make/document warranted changes based on CapEds Business Plan Objectives.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of all credit union products, services, and promotions.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience

Education: (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
