Job Description:

Role: The Commercial & Construction Relationship Assistant promotes member financial well-being through assisting the Relationship Managers with the loan origination process and collaborating with team members to effectively move loans through the closing process while maintaining asset quality and performing portfolio maintenance. This position will also assist with the effective management of the construction loan portfolio, including preparing new construction loan files, monitoring existing construction loan files, and collaborating with internal team members and third-party partners to ensure completeness and proper risk mitigation of all construction loans.

 

Pay: $26.70/HR

 

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assists commercial, construction or business members through the loan origination process while actively listening to and inquiring about member’s needs with the objective of providing the ultimate member experience and value-added solutions.
  • Assist Relationship Managers with new loan origination workflow, including preparing credit memorandums, gathering necessary information pertaining to due diligence, ensuring files are complete and assisting the Commercial Operations team with services necessary to transition loans to closing.
  • Assists with management of construction loan portfolio, including but not limited to: Ordering inspections, date down endorsements, funding of construction disbursements, and reviewing construction documentation for completion.
  • Reviews construction budgets and tracks them through the construction process to ensure that they maintain accuracy against advance requests and cost overruns and shortfalls are mitigated.
  • Follows all Construction Loan procedures established by NCUA as described in Part 723.6 of Member Business Loan Federal Regulations.
  • Assist Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts with existing portfolio maintenance, including credit renewals, portfolio monitoring and reporting, annual reviews, and other pertinent duties.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of commercial and small business lending policies and procedures and keep up to date on regulation changes.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of CapEd construction loan policy and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and promotion
  • Contributes to efficient Credit Union operations by performing other job-related duties as assigned.
