Job Description:

Starting Rate: $29.01 – $36.27/hr
Location: Tacoma, WA
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a central resource for branch and customer service inquiries to Business Services and Commercial Lending.
  • Call on both prospective and current clients to identify needs, propose solutions and address any servicing issues.
  • Assist business members with account origination, documentation, file maintenance and account maintenance.
  • Obtain and review member entity organizational documents, determine appropriate signing authorities and request borrower or guarantor changes as necessary.
  • Provide general administrative and sales support to the Commercial Lending Team and TAPCO partners.
  • Gather business loan information and process completed loan package as requested by loan officers.
  • Obtain credit reports, income verifications, bank deposit verifications, appraisals, environmental reviews, flood hazard determinations or other documents/data required for loan approval.
  • Input data on core processing system for loan closing.
  • Interact directly with members to sign loan documents and complete the loan closing process.
  • Service business accounts by processing items such as payoffs, refinances, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, etc.
  • Interact directly with members to obtain tax returns, financial statements and property information as needed in conjunction with annual loan reviews.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of and adhere to the requirements of all related policies, procedures, rules and regulations required for position.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all credit union products and services. Explain and cross-sell other credit union services.
  • Maintain an understanding of and adheres to the requirements of all federal, state, and local laws, including those of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as it specifically relates to the job functions.
  • Assume responsibility for other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

 

Your skills and experience:

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of various commercial entity structures to obtain correct and accurate loan/account documents to fully protect TAPCO’s interests.
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Ability to prioritize work, follow directions, meet critical deadlines, produce accurate work and work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, dress and attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of credit union policies and procedures.
  • 2+ years prior lending experience, preferably in commercial loan space.
  • Knowledge of XP2 and Finastra LaserPro.
  • Knowledge of state/federal business lending rules and regulations governing commercial loans and lines of credit.
