A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUSINESS LENDING SPECIALIST

As a Business Lending Specialist, you will be critical part of our Lending team. You will be reporting to the Chief Lending Officer and working with a variety of internal and external partners and members. Your responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in business development activities and solicitation of new business prospects in the assigned market area.
  • Interviewing existing and potential new members seeking commercial loans; using interview skills to obtain information concerning loan needs, earnings, and the individual’s financial condition.
  • Collecting documentation and completing application packages from potential borrowers; overcoming objections and solves potential problems, negotiating terms and a pricing structure to influence a successful outcome for both new and existing loans.
  • Providing direct assistance to Business members via telephone, in person, email, and at the member’s place of business.
  • Recognizing cross-selling opportunities for products and services both with staff and members; making referrals for additional Credit Union products.

This position offers some flexibility and has the potential for hybrid remote work. You will get great satisfaction out of building our business lending portfolio from the ground up and helping members achieve their business goals.

BUSINESS LENDING SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 plus years’ experience with new business development / account executive functions including a minimum of 1 year or more of prospecting experience REQUIRED;
  • Credit Union or Banking experience PREFERRED.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite of software.
  • Proven track record of success in closing new customer prospects.
  • Proven track record of finding member solutions to complex business needs.
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations if required for assigned market.

This non-exempt (overtime eligible) position is expected to work 40 hours per week.
