Throughout the week, attendees will hear from influential thought leaders while exploring the trends and opportunities shaping the future of credit unions.

 

Wednesday: Setting the Course for the Future

MAXX 2026 opens with the annual vision address from GoWest President and CEO Troy Stang. This signature session will provide a look at the opportunities, challenges, and priorities ahead for the Credit Union Movement, while highlighting the collective impact credit unions are making across the GoWest region and beyond.

 

Thursday: Navigating Change and Opportunity

Thursday’s mainstage programming focuses on two forces shaping the future of financial services: technological innovation and the economic realities impacting members and communities.

Dr. Lamont Black

Dr. Lamont Black will take the MAXX mainstage, offering forward-looking insights into artificial intelligence, digital assets, and market structure. Known for his ability to translate complex topics into practical understanding, Dr. Black will help credit union leaders engage with change thoughtfully and strategically.

Dr. Lawrence Yun

Attendees will also hear from Dr. Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist for the National Association of REALTORS, during his presentation, What to Expect in Real Estate in 2027 and Beyond. As housing affordability, interest rates, inventory challenges, and demographic shifts continue to influence the economy, Dr. Yun will provide an expert analysis of the trends likely to shape housing markets in the years ahead. His insights will help credit union leaders better understand the broader economic landscape, anticipate member needs, and identify opportunities within mortgage lending and homeownership.

Friday: Building Stronger Teams Through Better Leadership

The conference concludes with a focus on one of every credit union’s most valuable assets: its people.

Leadership expert Kim Scott will bring her “Radical Candor” philosophy to the MAXX 2026 mainstage, offering practical strategies for building stronger, more engaged teams. A New York Times bestselling author and former Google and Apple leader, Scott will explore how to recognize when employees are in “RockStar” or “SuperStar” mode and how to support each through meaningful feedback and career conversations. Her session delivers timely insights for credit union leaders focused on talent development and team performance.
