Crypto bill clears the Wyoming House

The House of Representatives passed credit union priority legislation, House Bill 75 – Crypto kiosk, on third reading on Saturday evening. The bill was amended on the floor of the house to define new and existing users of kiosks as well as changing the penalties from a misdemeanor to a felony.

Attempts to insert waiting periods into the bill failed on the floor. The Banking Commissioner will be able to address these specifics in the rulemaking process. The engrossed bill incorporating amendments is available here.

Senate File 31 – Uniform Mortgage Modification Act was introduced in the House, reported out of committee and is on the schedule for Committee of the Whole.

This afternoon the Senate and House Appropriations Committee’s will hear an overview of the other house’s budget bill. This will then kick off the start of the reconciliation process which is projected to be contentious as the two houses budget bills are significantly divergent.
