Portland Business Journal Recognizes Unitus Credit Union for Contributions in the Financial Services Industry

Portland Business Journal has named Unitus Community Credit Union the tenth most admired company in the financial services industry in the Portland Metro Area. The recognition celebrates companies based on survey results from more than 200 local leaders.

The newspaper surveyed CEO-level executives, asking them to select companies or organizations they most admire in ten industry categories. Unitus was one of two credit unions to earn this distinction in financial services.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by Portland Business Journal and local leaders who shared their admiration for Unitus,” said Steven Stapp, President and CEO of Unitus Community Credit Union. “This award confirms our reputation, culture, and service truly reflect our commitment to inclusive financial practices and care for our communities. We are grateful to be in the company of the other outstanding organizations.”

Portland Business Journal said in its call for nominations that the organizations designated as most admired “uphold a reputation we all seek and deserve utmost recognition.”

Unitus was thrilled to host its community partner, Project Lemonade, at the awards ceremony. The organization provides the resources, opportunities and connections youth in foster care need. Other community partners, including Oregon Health & Science University/Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Blanchet House and Farm, and Legacy Health/Randall Children’s Hospital, also earned recognition as ”most admired.”

“We celebrate our community partners who earned this distinction,” said Stapp. “Unitus is proud to partner with these organizations who provide life-changing — and lifesaving — services across the metro area. We, too, admire their leadership, commitment, and contributions to the communities they serve.”
