Colorado Credit Union Supports Local Communities Through Food Cost Relief Initiative

In November, Colorado Credit Union launched a Food Cost Relief Initiative in response to the heightened challenges many individuals and families experienced due to changes in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The initiative was created to offer meaningful, immediate support to our communities during a time when grocery store costs were especially difficult for many households.

As part of this effort, Colorado Credit Union staff assembled and donated Care Kits containing a King Soopers gift card and essential household items. These kits were delivered to community partners located near each of its branches, including 27J Public Schools, Food For Thought Bak Pak Program serving Jefferson County, and TGTHR to End Youth Homelessness. Each community partner helps serve families, students, and young adults who are experiencing food insecurity.

The credit union’s staff played a central role in bringing this initiative to life as team members came together to pack the Care Kits and write handwritten notes, adding a personal and heartfelt message of support from Colorado Credit Union. Their generosity, time, and care ensured that the kits were completed and delivered ahead of the holidays.

Colorado Credit Union is deeply committed to supporting the well-being of the communities it serves and is grateful to its employees and community partners for helping the credit union make a positive impact during a time when many local communities need it most.
