Armed with Impact Data, Wyoming Advocates Kick off Credit Union Days at the Capitol in Cheyenne

Wyoming advocates kicked off “Advocacy Season” on Jan. 16 with the first Credit Union Day at the Capitol in the region. The 40 leaders from Wyoming’s credit unions that attended received updates from state officials and heard about new economic and impact reports just published. They also heard legislative updates from both the state and federal perspectives.

At the Capitol, they met with legislators to highlight the impact data, share their own member stories, and voice their support for credit union-supported legislation.

WY DAC Attendees 2025“Cooperatives are well-respected in Wyoming, so when we tell legislators that credit unions are cooperative and driven by the very members using their services, it moves the needle for them,” said Bobbie Frank, GoWest’s Vice President, Legislative Affairs for Wyoming.

Legislators received just-released studies documenting credit unions’ impressive economic footprint across the state and the additional ways credit unions serve the more than 330,000 Wyomingites who are credit union members. The full economic & community impact reports can be found here.

The Honorable Curt Meier, Wyoming’s State Treasurer was on hand as well as Taylor Rosetti and Lacey Bruckner from Wyoming’s Department of Transportation.
