Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Board of Directors it provides leadership, direction, profitability, growth, motivation and guidance to the credit union and its employees. Guides long-range planning activities and assures the adequacy of strategic and financial planning. Responsible for ensuring financial stability and member satisfaction commensurate with the best interest of the members, employees, and the credit union. Actively participates in the credit union’s associations and community affairs. Implement aggressive business development programs to enhance growth of credit union.
Essential Job Duties:
15%:
Directs the formulation of the credit union’s product mix and determines the overall marketing strategy.
15%:
Ensures sufficient capital and maintains appropriate balance between assets and liabilities. Develops, recommends, and implements financial policies and procedures.
10%:
Promotes and directs the overall growth and prosperity of the credit union by professionally serving the members of the community. Participate actively in community and professional activities to position the credit union as a leader in the community and aggressive competitor in the service area.
10%:
Develops and approves the overall operating budget for the credit union, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic plan.
10%:
Ensures appropriate staffing levels to maintain continuity of management and high service standards. Encourages an environment supportive of staff morale and dedication. Develop an effective and cohesive Senior Management Team.
10%:
Serves on several credit union committees as required, such as Executive Committee, ALCO Committee, Investment Committee, Budget Committee, and Technology Committee.
10%:
Research and recommend operating policies, procedures, and a general operating philosophy to the Board of Directors. Ensures that the credit union follows the federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Association and other State and Federal regulatory agencies.
10%:
Establishes long- and short-range planning goals and oversees their execution. Provides strategic and/or administrative direction and management in all credit union functions to include accounting, ALM, business development, compliance, facility management, finance, human resources, investments, lending, marketing, operations, retails services, risk management and security.
Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Asset Control.
Knowledge and Skills and Experience
Seasoned professional with skills in selection, recruiting and managing a culture attractive to highly effective employees. Advanced understanding of corporate income statements and balance statements.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
CCUE preferred; bachelor’s degree in business administration and/or Finance required.

Must be able to patiently communicate and motivate at all levels of the credit union. Ability to stay calm in stressful situations. Write and speaks effectively uses conventions proper to the situation; demonstrates openness and honesty; listens well during meetings and feedback sessions; explains reasoning behind own opinions; asks others for their opinions and feedback; asks questions to ensure understanding; exercises a professional approach with others using all appropriate tools of communication; uses consideration and tact when offering opinions. Keeps confidential information confidential.
Other Skills
Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be comfortable with technology.
ADA Requirements and Physician Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to perform work on a computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, dependable, and timely attendance. Frequently will need to work more than 40 hours per week.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on their own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities or self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various complicated written and oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the credit union and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
