Position Title: Lending & Accounts Control Manager
Reports To: Director of Lending & Accounts Control
Department: Lending & Accounts Control
FLSA Status: Full-time, Nonexempt
Location: Everett, WA / Arlington, WA
Summary of the Position:
The primary role of the Lending & Accounts Control Manager is to work with the Director of Lending &
Accounts Control in the planning, management, and overall performance of the Lending & Accounts
Control Departments. Additionally, this role will act as the backup to the Director of Lending & Accounts
Control in their absence, to make decisions for their departments to run smoothly. Oversight of all lending
products such as consumer lending, real estate and mortgage lending as well as our VISA credit card
portfolio. This position is instrumental in driving the credit union’s profitability, protecting against risk and
providing exceptional member service to our members.
The Lending & Accounts Control Manager will be responsible for managing the departments in accordance
with the credit union’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the Director with
feedback concerning interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining
employees; delegating projects and duties, handling escalated member situations and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain knowledge and compliance of lending and accounts control practices and regulations
• Manage and supervise the lending and accounts control employees as well as the outsourced
collection agency
• Ability to identify opportunities to cross sell new or additional products and services to members
and ensure staff are adequately trained in cross-selling
• Ability to use critical thinking skills to analyze a member’s financial condition to include credit
history, credit score, collateral and other financial information to assess the degree of risk and the
member’s ability to repay the loan
• Responsible for the underwriting quality and approving loan underwriting exceptions
• Communicates and negotiates with dealers regarding indirect loan approvals or denials
• Ensure loan decisions are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and lending regulations,
policies, and procedures
• Usage of critical thinking skills to best work with members to provide resolution of delinquent
accounts
• Responsibility for reviewing and working accounts involved in legal proceedings, repossession and
bankruptcy proceedings.
• Make recommendations to the Director for charge-off, repossession, legal action, and/or
foreclosure
• Regularly audit delinquent accounts to ensure maximum and appropriate collection efforts have
been taken
• Handle escalated member calls and disputes
• Implement workflow improvements to provide responsive and efficient service to the members and
credit union employees
• Ensure adherence to appropriate policies and procedures in lending and accounts control and that
procedures are updated regularly
• Continue ongoing communication with the Director by providing regular input and informing
him/her of ideas and suggestions
• Actively listen and appropriately respond to member and employee requests, concerns, and
suggestions
• Treat member information carefully and confidentially always maintaining privacy and security
• Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

Requirements for the Position:
• Product Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable of the credit union’s policies and procedures and
have prior knowledge of related regulatory requirements. They must also have a comprehensive
understanding of consumer and mortgage loan products and services. Must be proficient in
standard workplace programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. It will also be required
to become knowledgeable in all computer programs and software specific to the credit union.
• Experience: Minimum 3 – 5 years of management/leadership experience in lending and collections
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of
education and experience
• Work Environment and Physical Considerations: This position operates in a professional office
environment and requires the ability to travel among branches and perform other necessary travel
for work-related duties. MountainCrest Credit Union is committed to working with its employees to

o Physical Mobility: significant mobility is required including the ability to sit or stand for long
periods of time, and the ability to lift 30lbs is required.
