Solarity Credit Union Donates $40,000 to Memorial Foundation and Toy Jeep to Patient

On July 15, Mina Worthington, President and CEO of Yakima, Wash.-based Solarity Credit Union, delivered a $40,000 donation to the Memorial Foundation as well as a toy Jeep to four-year-old Jeremiah, a former Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU) patient. These donations were in support of MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital’s children’s health care programs and services.

“Solarity is proud to support the Memorial Foundation’s mission of making the Yakima Valley a safe and healthy place to live,” said Worthington.

The ceremonial check represents a donation raised in 2023 under the Credit Unions for Kids program, a national credit union initiative that raises funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The GoWest Credit Union Association hosts an auction each fall and, last year, accepted bids on electric cars for each of the 11 CMN Hospitals represented at the event.

Solarity Credit Union’s $40,000 donation purchased the toy Jeep Wrangler for the deserving young patient, and the money supports specialized pediatric programs, services and equipment at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital’s NICU, Pediatric Unit, Family Birth Center, and at Children’s Village.

“We are grateful for the continued support from Solarity Credit Union and their members,” said Erin Black, Memorial Foundation CEO. “Solarity’s unwavering commitment to children’s health in our community has ensured our smallest patients receive the care, support and opportunities to thrive close to home.”
