Minnequa Works Credit Union Is Fueling Future Business

Fuel Kitchens and Minnequa Works Credit Union (MWCU) are thrilled to announce a grant program for up-and-coming food businesses in Southeastern Colorado. This grant, funded by MWCU, is designed to support individuals looking to offset the costs of entrepreneurship with Fuel Kitchens in Pueblo, Colo. Up to 10 entrepreneurs will receive $3,000 to offset membership costs at Fuel Kitchens over a period of six months.

Award winners must open a checking account at MWCU for their business, where the funds will be deposited. Applications for the grant opened July 1, 2024, and will be accepted on a rolling basis until all grant funds are expended, which is expected to occur by Aug. 1. Fuel Kitchens is the incubator commissary kitchen and co-manufacturing facility for the Fuel & Iron Project, which also includes the Fuel & Iron Food Hall for restauranteurs and Fuel Farm for farmers (opening in 2025). Through the launch of these incubator sites, Fuel & Iron aims to make Pueblo the best place in Colorado to launch a food business, allowing the region to attract talent from around the state while retaining more homegrown talent.
