Canopy CU Honored for Financial Education Efforts

Canopy Credit Union is excited to announce it is the second-place winner of the The Desjardins Adult and Youth Financial Edcuation Award in the 50-250 million asset catgory by America’s Credit Unions.
This national award recognizes leading credit unions who focus on financial literacy for members and nonmembers of all ages. The namestake of the award is credit union pioneer Alphonse Desjardins and is dedicated to the credit union movement’s longstanding commitment to financial education.
Canopy’s financial education efforts from 2022 were highlighted with this award. With over 200 free financial coaching sessions, 86 workshops at local nonprofits and organizations and 61 educational videos on social media, Canopy expanded its reach and influence beyond its branches and into the community.
Jim Nussle, president of America’s Credit Unions, congratulated the credit unions that won this year’s awards.
“What you have been able to accomplish for your members and communites is impressive,” Nussle said. “Credit unions continue to be consumers’ best financial partner.”
Canopy is honored to receive this award and looks forward to continue furthering its impact with financial education.
