Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

30%        Cultivates a high-performing Enterprise Analytics team through continuous training, motivation, and performance evaluations. Works closely with the Senior Data Scientist, who provides program architecture and engineering recommendations. The Manager then takes charge, prioritizing and directing Data Scientists and Business Intelligence team members to implement these recommendations, ensuring they align with the credit union’s strategic priorities. Maintains open lines of communication for effective project management and objective achievement with an unwavering focus on ownership and follow through.

30%        Fosters synergy with internal departments across the organization, including lending, digital, delivery, finance, marketing, and IT. Collaboratively works to deliver nuanced, actionable insights that drive business decisions. With input from the Senior Data Scientist and other key personnel, ensures that forward-thinking, member-centric analyses are developed and leveraged, promoting strategic growth and alignment with overarching business objectives.

30%        Champions thought leadership in analytics, continually refining the program’s roadmap in response to the organization’s evolving needs. With the integration of insights and recommendations from the Senior Data Scientist, balances data-driven insights with strategic intuition to make pivotal decisions influencing the credit union’s data analytics trajectory. Cultivates an environment of innovation, ensuring the organization remains at the industry’s forefront of delivering exceptional member service experiences.

5%          With a keen eye on industry standards and best practices, ensures the team’s adherence to relevant regulations and credit union policies. Prioritizes the safeguarding and ethical use of sensitive data, ensuring that both Data Scientists and Business Intelligence professionals uphold these protocols.

5%         While anchored in analytics, the Manager demonstrates versatility, leading new initiatives and addressing unforeseen challenges. This role includes both proactive leadership and adaptability to ensure the team meets dynamic business needs.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Three or more years in a project or program leadership role related to Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar capacity. A track record of successfully guiding teams to drive business results using data insights. Familiarity with data, modeling, analysis, and data storytelling best practices. While hands-on technical experience is valuable, the ability to leverage team expertise and align their work with business goals is paramount. Exposure to BI/Analytics project lifecycles and a basic understanding of programming languages (R/ Python), SQL, relational databases, and data visualization tools (like Tableau).

 

Education: (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) combination of achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree) and applicable professional experience.

 

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing, or training others. Outside Contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

 

Other Skills: Strong orientation toward process management, with a focus on efficiency, clarity, and alignment with business objectives. Demonstrated ability in strategic and critical thinking. Exceptional communication skills, with the capability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations for a diverse audience. Unyielding commitment to transparency, trust-building, and open communication. Aptitude to quickly adapt to new software tools. A collaborative team player who is dependable and can effectively manage time and priorities.

 

Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

 

Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to all credit union regions may be required.
