Cascadia Chapter Annual Turkey Shoot Raises Nearly $900 for Blanchet House

Nov. 16 marked the annual Cascadia Chapter of Credit Unions Turkey Shoot, a cornerstone event in the credit union community, where 136 attendees gathered in Portland, Oregon, to support the Blanchet House.
This tradition, running since 2011, pays homage to the late Bob Burns, a revered credit union executive and community leader known for his dedication to the Blanchet House’s cause. Remembered as a visionary and mentor, Burns’ legacy lives on through events like these.
The Blanchet House, founded in 1952, provides vital services such as food, clothing, and residential programs to those in need. The Turkey Shoot, beyond its sporting nature, serves as a beacon of philanthropy. This year’s event raised close to $900, bolstered by direct donations pouring in from participants, reflecting the compassionate spirit of the credit union community.
