Job Description:

Position Purpose
Ensures the stable operation of the infrastructure to minimize down time and maximize up time for staff and
members. Works toward and assists in the positive image and growth of the credit union.

Principles/Accountabilities

Network Administrations (40%)
• Interfaces with credit union staff, vendors, and consultants to implement new technologies and
troubleshoot problems. Research questions using available information and resources and utilizes
remote assistance software to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve system issues; advises users on
appropriate action. Runs diagnostic tests and recommends actions to correct problems.
• Administers, monitors and maintains the credit union’s servers, databases and other infrastructure to
ensure reliable and continuous operation. Implements necessary upgrades and patches to keep systems
up to date with the latest security and performance enhancements.
• Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive information and protect against cyber
threats. Ensure the credit union’s compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to
technology and data management.
• Establish and maintain robust data backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data
and ensure business continuity. Performs periodic tests of disaster recovery plans to validate
effectiveness.
• Utilizes monitoring tools to track system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively
resolve issues. Optimize system performance and resource utilization to ensure efficient and costeffective operations.
• Assists the IT department when major disasters or major infrastructure changes occur. Assists with the
development, execution, and maintenance of the disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
• Travel to branches for setup, equipment upgrades and troubleshooting.
System Project Work (40%)
• Leads systems and productivity projects. Writes specifications and develops reports. Research
product information. Sets-up system access for end users; monitors reports and activity logs for
security breaches. Creates and supports operation of test environments for the network. Works with
other organizations and vendors to analyze and successfully implement new solutions.
Security Administration (20%)
• Oversee identity and access management (IAM) systems, including user provisioning, access controls,
and authentication mechanisms. Monitor user access to sensitive data and applications, ensuring
compliance with least privilege principles.
• Works as a backup to the Network Administrator.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications
BS Degree in Information Systems or related technology or corresponding knowledge through work experience. At
least 5 years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer, preferably in a financial
institution or credit union environment. Certification in Microsoft SQL, Exchange, Windows Server, or
corresponding knowledge through work experience. Thorough understanding of Active Directory and IAM
principles. Familiarity with security best practices (NIST, Essential 8), and compliance standards (PCI, GDPR).
Availability for On-Call status and some weekend work.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Ability to communicate verbally.
• Ability to communicate in writing.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-based services

• Knowledge of Hyper-V, VMware, and SQL.
