Rivermark Community Credit Union has donated $15,000 to Bradley Angle, a Portland-based nonprofit providing safe and stable housing for people recovering from the trauma of domestic violence.
Bradley Angle will use the donation to provide stipends for the new POWER program. The POWER (Plan, Organize, Work, Educate, Rise) program is a four-part educational program focused on empowering and uplifting Bradley Angle participants. Participants will receive a stipend for each session they attend. The sessions will focus on subjects such as savings, expenses, budgeting, and credit.
“The launch of the POWER Program marks an exciting new chapter in Rivermark’s partnership with Bradley Angle.”, said Kaity Wittig, AVP of Financial Wellness for Rivermark. “Expanding access to financial inclusion and capability services empowers survivors and complements the holistic support Bradley Angle has provided to Portland communities for 50 years. We’re honored to work alongside such trailblazers to create meaningful, lasting impact.”
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Rivermark to create the POWER Program,” shared Nalicia Petersen, Economic Empowerment Coordinator for Bradley Angle. “The POWER Program is a much-needed resource for our participants who have experienced financial violence, offering trauma-informed, one-on-one education and compassionate support.
“It equips survivors with the tools, confidence, and knowledge they need to take control of their financial futures and move forward with hope, stability and independence,” Petersen added. “This partnership has been an incredibly meaningful experience, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who helped bring it to life.”
