Priority Legislation Advances

Credit union priority legislation, Senate File 75 – Virtual currency kiosk passed the House Revenue Committee unanimously this morning. Bobbie Frank, VP of Legislative Affairs, shared three examples of fraud involving these kiosks as reported by credit unions from across the state.

Also supporting the bill were the AARP, Wyoming Sheriff’s and Chiefs of Police Association, Wyoming Business Alliance, and two representatives of kiosk companies CoinFlip and Bitcoin Depot.

The committee adopted amendments proposed by David Pope, an accountant representing himself. Pope is also a member of the Wyoming Select Blockchain Committee and the Wyoming Stable Token Commission.

GoWest is obtaining a copy of the amendments that were not available to the public during the meeting and will be further analyzing impacts.

Senate File 31 – Uniform Mortgage Modification Act legislation also passed out of the Senate Corporations Committee yesterday. The then passed on general file in the Senate is on the list for second reading today.
