Pre-filing Begins in Arizona

As of November 17, 2026, members of the Arizona State Legislature can pre-file bills for the 2026 57th Legislature, 2nd Regular Session, which convenes on January 12, 2026. Pre-filing allows members to introduce bills before the session begins. Once the session convenes, members will have until January 15th to introduce as many bills as possible before the 7-bill limit is imposed.
As of November 19th, there have been a total of 16 bills and 6 memorials, and resolutions introduced. We can anticipate quite a few more bills to be pre-filled before the start of the session. Arizona does not carry over bills from previous sessions during its second regular session; however, identical bills can be reintroduced. We can anticipate seeing similar themes in legislation for 2026 as we did in 2025.
