Wyoming proposed interim study topics

The Management Council will meet April 8 and discuss and act on proposed interim study topics for the remainder of the year.

The standing legislative committees meet at the end or following session and discuss potential interim study topic priorities. The Management Council approves the topics. The Management Council is composed of 10 members, five from the Senate and five from the House consisting of the leadership of both houses and an at-large member from each house.

Topics proposed of interest to credit unions include:

Joint Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions Committee

  • Opportunity Zones and Regulatory sandboxes and an updated on “Freedom Cities.”
  • Workforce housing
  • Uniform Commercial Code

The Joint Revenue Committee

  • Sales and use taxes. This topic will include review of sales tax exemptions and a review of how sales tax is collected on ATV’s and other vehicles.
  • Wyoming’s tax structure and the administration of taxes in Wyoming.

The Select Blockchain Financial Technology and Digital Innovation Technology Committee

  • Study artificial intelligence (AI) governance and assess the State’s role in developing AI legislation.
  • Personal Data Privacy and Ownership.

Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs

  • Wyoming Department of Transportation Update, which will include an update on the implementation of the electronic lien and title system.
