Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) is proud to celebrate Financial Advisor Lisa Atkinson, who has been with TFCU for 29 years and a financial coach for over 21 years, and her contributions to the Interfaith Community Services (ICS) Bridges Financial Management Class.
As a presenter in the Bridges course, Atkinson focuses on critical topics such as debt management, creating spending plans, and building emergency funds. Her straightforward and relatable approach makes these complex subjects accessible and actionable for participants from all walks of life. Beyond the classroom, she offers individualized support, working with participants to create customized financial plans and to identify opportunities to save money.
A cornerstone organization in Tucson’s social service network, ICS has grown to serve more than 60,000 people annually, providing critical services like transportation, meals, housing stabilization, and financial counseling. ICS maximizes resources to address community needs, with administrative and fundraising costs averaging less than 11% of expenses. The organization’s mission aligns with Lisa’s work, equipping clients with tools for long-term stability.
As a community-based credit union with high attention on its members, TFCU’s commitment to financial education is well represented by Atkinson and her classes.
“Lisa embodies the values of TFCU and the Life Advancement program,” shared TFCU President & CEO Matthew Gaspari. “Her work exemplifies the positive impact one person can have in transforming lives and building stronger communities.”
