Forrit Credit Union Opens New Rockwood Branch in Portland

Oregon-based Forrit Credit Union opened a new branch in Portland’s Rockwood neighborhood on Jan. 24. Aimed at enhancing services and expanding access to financial resources for its members, this strategic move is a commitment to providing an improved member experience in a facility designed with modern conveniences and cutting-edge service capabilities.

“This move is about more than just a new building,” said Forrit CEO Justin Olson. “It’s about expanding access, creating trust, and providing a welcoming, state-of-the-art space where every member feels valued and supported in their financial journey.”

The new 2,100-square-foot Rockwood branch, located on E. Burnside St. in the heart of the community, features an innovative, flexible environment tailored for personalized member interactions. From private offices to accessible teller pods, the design supports seamless service delivery, allowing staff to assist members efficiently in various settings. For members visiting in person, complimentary parking is available, and all the staff they’ve come to know and love from the Downtown Portland branch will service the new Rockwood branch.

Forrit Credit Union is proud to deepen its commitment to the Rockwood community, bringing a new era of member-focused service to one of Oregon’s most diverse and dynamic neighborhoods. It aligns with the credit union’s mission of financial empowerment, inclusivity, and community impact.

“Our new Rockwood branch represents a powerful step forward in our commitment to serve those who are often overlooked in the financial system,” said Olson. “This facility allows us to bring innovative, community-centered banking right to the people who need it most.”

To celebrate the grand opening, Forrit Credit Union held a special event for members and the community on Jan. 24 that included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the new branch, a meet and greet with staff, and information about the enhanced service offerings.
