Numerica Credit Union Gives $120,000 in Transformative Grants

Three Eastern and Central Washington nonprofits are set to receive a transformative $120,000 Member Impact Fund grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Des Moines with support from Numerica Credit Union. By leveraging a $10,000 donation from Numerica CARES for Kids, Numerica secured an additional $30,000 in matching funds for each organization, maximizing resources for these impactful programs.

The grant will directly support Numerica’s community partners, with each nonprofit receiving $40,000 to bolster programs that strengthen local families and communities:

  • Family Promise of Spokane
  • Communities In Schools of Benton-Franklin
  • Women’s Resource Center of North Central Washington

“We believe in the power of partnerships to build stronger, brighter communities,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica President and CEO. “Our Numerica CARES for Kids initiative supports organizations dedicated to helping children and families thrive. This grant drives Numerica’s vision of achieving a community where no child has to experience poverty.”

The Member Impact Fund grant program, introduced by FHLB Des Moines in 2023, is poised to distribute nearly $12 million to nonprofits across Washington and other regions in its district. This initiative offers critical financial support to eligible organizations, ensuring they have the resources to create resilient, thriving communities.

“Here at Family Promise, we are deeply grateful to Numerica for their unwavering support, bringing stability and hope to families in Spokane County,” said Joe Ader, Family Promise of Spokane CEO. “Their generous gift empowers us to not only help families get housing, but also equip families with the tools they need to keep their housing.”

The FHLB Des Moines selected organizations based on the needs for grant funding to support capacity-building or working capital necessary to strengthen their ability to serve affordable housing or community development needs.
