The Local Change Foundation, formerly known as Elevations Credit Union‘s Elevations Foundation, announced it has awarded $70,000 to 12 nonprofit organizations across Colorado’s Front Range. Each year, the foundation awards grants to nonprofits helping improve life in local communities.
This year’s grantees focus on affordable housing and mental health, two core areas of focus for the foundation. Grantees focused on mental health are 3Hopeful Hearts in Fort Collins, Revital Colorado in Westminster, Rise Against Suicide in Boulder, Ignite Adaptive Sports of Nederland, and the Richard Lambert Foundation in Brighton.
Grantees working in affordable housing are Veterans Community Project and the Inn Between, both of Longmont, Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley, Crossroads Safehouse of Fort Collins, BeyondHome of Arvada, and Sunshine Home Share Colorado and Colorado Homeownership Coalition, both of Denver.
Safe Shelter of St. Vrain received an additional $5,000 for the Members’ Choice Award, an award selected by Elevations Credit Union members. For the $5,000 Employees’ Choice Award, Elevations employees selected 3Hopeful Hearts.
“One of the most rewarding days of the year is giving grants to such deserving organizations who work tirelessly to create change in our communities,” said Jennifer Hinderliter, the director of Local Change. “Our support for local nonprofits doesn’t end here either.” The foundation also offers nonprofit support throughout the year through free virtual training seminars.
The foundation has awarded more than $790,000 to 72 organizations and more than $4 million in community resources since it was established in 2010. Donations can be made through Local Change’s website.
