Solarity Credit Union Starts the School Year Off Right With Donation of School Supplies to YWCA

On Aug. 20, Wash.-based Solarity Credit Union delivered a large donation of school supplies to the YWCA Yakima, including pens and pencils, notebooks, glue, backpacks, and more. This donation will go toward helping kids in the community have a successful start to the 2024-25 school year and was the culmination of a month-long school supply drive by Solarity employees and members.

“Solarity is proud to support the YWCA and its mission,” said Mina Worthington, Solarity President and CEO. “Our employees loved shopping for these school supplies, knowing they will go to support local kids and help them get a successful start to their school year.”

Solarity presented the donation of more than 800 school supply items to YWCA Yakima’s Executive Director, Cheri Kilty, at the organization’s headquarters.

“What a wonderful way for our local kids to start the new year – with new school supplies!” exclaimed Kilty. “We deeply appreciate Solarity’s continued partnership. We can count on them throughout the year for support, and it means so much to us and the people we serve.”
