Tucson Federal Credit Union Announces CFO and VP of Culture and Development Promotions

Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) announced in June the promotion of Chris Fonseca to Chief Financial Officer and John Moyer to Vice President of Culture and Development. 

Chris Fonseca, a seasoned finance professional with certifications including Certified Management Accountant and Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis, has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer. A graduate of the University of Arizona with a major in Accounting, Chris recently passed Part 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst exam. His commitment to Tucson Federal Credit Union’s vision is unwavering, and he is eager to contribute to its continued success. Throughout his career, Chris has been guided by the mentorship of TFCU’s CEO, Matthew Gaspari, a testament to his dedication to the organization’s values. 

“Chris is one of the hardest working people I know, and he is more than ready to take on this new role.  Chris’ financial skills are off the charts. He’s analytical and innovative, and his loyalty is always to our members first.,” said Matthew Gaspari, President and CEO of TFCU. “Watching Chris grow professionally over the last many years has been a real privilege, and I’m looking forward to great things with him as our CFO.”

John Moyer has been a TFCU employee for the past 20 years. He is a recognized expert in professional development with over 13 years of experience in human resources, learning and development, and operations management. He holds a Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional designation, is a Western CUNA Management School graduate, and is a Certified Social and Emotional Intelligence Coach. John’s academic background includes a B.A. in Communication from the University of Arizona with a strong foundation in psychology. He was an honoree for Tucson Hispanic Chamber’s 40 under 40 in 2021, is a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is an alum member of the LGBTQ+ Victory Institute.

“I have had the privilege of watching John grow professionally for 20 years, from a young high school student to now Vice President of Culture and Development,” said Gaspari. “He is a perfect example of what can be achieved when an employee and the organization partner in professional development. John has worked hard to achieve this position. He has been preparing for senior leadership for many years, and I’m proud of his achievements.”
