Withers Announces Run for SD 6

Kim Withers, former President and CEO of Meridian Trust FCU headquartered in Cheyenne, announced yesterday her intent to run for Wyoming state senate district 6. Senate district 6 is currently held by Senator Anthony Bouchard.  Withers spent 40 years as a financial industry leader and local community advocate.

In 2024, Wither’s was inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders, and during her career was named Credit Union Executive of the Year. Her pioneering efforts also earned her the distinction of being the first recipient of the “Wyoming’s Women of Influence” award in Banking and Finance in 2013. She served on the Federal Reserve Community Depository Institution Advisory Council.  She is dedicated to her community serving on Joint Economic Powers Board, Laramie County Friday Food Bag Foundation, Rotary, and more.

Senate district 6 encompasses eastern Laramie County to the Nebraska state line north to the county line, including portions of north and northwest rural Laramie County and encompasses Platte County.

To date, no other candidate has announced, including incumbent Senator Bouchard. The official filing period opens May 16 and will close May 31.
