Gov. Inslee shares next step for Washington re-opening

Today Gov. Jay Inslee today shared he is extending Washington’s “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” order through May 31st. In the process, he also announced some additional businesses that can re-open once phase one is implemented in the coming weeks. He also shared the guidelines and framework of the four phases of re-opening including what business types can re-open, what outdoor recreation is allowed, what and when gatherings can occur, and what high-risk individuals should continue to do throughout the entire process.
Broadly this is certainly an important step but also lays out an extended re-opening process as compared to some other states.
The new policy also allows for ten of the state’s counties with small populations and low rates of infections to apply for a waiver to re-open more quickly than the rest of the state.
This new guidance does not change operational practices for credit unions and continues to let each of your organizations determine and implement what works best to protect the health of your staff while continuing to serve the needs of your members.
