Why this role exists

Connections Credit Union’s mobile branch brings modern financial services to places where access is thin. We’re looking for a high-initiative, entrepreneurial operator who can build and run, someone who is equally comfortable sketching a go-to-market plan on Monday and balancing cash, coaching staff, and serving members on Tuesday. If you’re intrinsically motivated, love testing ideas, and communicate clearly under changing conditions, you’ll thrive here.

What you’ll do

Strategy & Growth

  • Own a dynamic outreach strategy for rural and underserved markets; continuously test routes, hours, and event formats to find what works.
  • Build partnerships with schools, employers, Tribal and civic leaders, faith and community groups; convert relationships into events, memberships, and loans.
  • Co-create localized campaigns with Marketing; translate community insights into compelling offers and financial education.

Operations & Member Service

  • Lead daily operations of an RV-style mobile branch: cash controls, teller transactions, consumer lending support, digital-banking assistance, supplies, and safety.
  • Build flexible schedules and weekly/seasonal routes that balance demand, team capacity, and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations in a remote environment.

Leadership & Team

  • Work directly with the Executive Management Team
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor the mobile unit team; model service excellence and accountability.
  • Set clear goals, inspect results, and iterate. Celebrate learning—including smart failures—and scale what works.
  • Partner with Branch Supervisors to align community outreach with each branch’s member base and opportunities.

What success looks like

  • A validated route & schedule that reliably reaches target communities and produces steady member and loan growth.
  • A living community partnership map (contacts, MOUs, recurring events) with measurable outcomes.
  • A simple KPI dashboard (e.g., events held, members onboarded, loans funded, digital activations, partner referrals) reviewed monthly with leadership.
  • A cohesive, cross-trained team that communicates crisply and adapts quickly.

What you bring

Must-Haves

  • Demonstrated initiative and strategic thinking in an ambiguous, field-based or entrepreneurial role.
  • Proven ability to balance operations with the big picture; you can design an experiment, run it safely, measure the outcome, and pivot fast.
  • Excellent communication—clear writing, confident presenting, and tactful community engagement.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record; comfortable operating an RV-style vehicle (training provided).
  • Willingness to work flexible, non-traditional hours aligned to community needs.

Preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred for our member communities.
  • Credit union or community bank experience; understanding of consumer lending and front-line operations.
  • Business development or grassroots organizing experience (partnerships, events, field sales, or community programs).
  • 2-year degree, specialized certification/training, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with basic financial software, remote operations, and simple reporting.

Mindset & Behaviors

  • High agency: you move without waiting for permission, bring options not problems.
  • Builder’s mentality: start small, launch fast, measure, refine.
  • Member-first pragmatism: do the right thing, efficiently and compliantly.
  • Team multiplier: you coach, give feedback, and make people around you better.
  • Resilient & adaptable: changing routes and plans energize you, not rattle you.

Work environment & physical requirements

  • Frequent regional travel; regular set-up/tear-down of event materials; ability to lift up to ~30 lbs.
  • Field-based conditions (weather, variable internet connectivity) with appropriate safety protocols and support.
  • Drive an RV-Sized Mobile Unit
