NCUA Chairman John Crews to Make First Appearance Outside D.C. Beltway at MAXX

National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman John Crews will make his first public appearance outside the D.C. Beltway, since becoming chairman, when he takes the stage at MAXX 2026 in Denver on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Crews will join credit union leaders for a fireside chat during Wednesday morning’s mainstage event to discuss the issues facing credit unions, the future of the industry, and the role of the NCUA in supporting a strong, safe, and member-focused credit union system.

“Hosting Chairman Crews at MAXX for his first appearance outside Washington is a big moment for our credit unions and for the West,” said Troy Stang, GoWest’s President and CEO. “We appreciate the focus he has on risk-based supervision, regulatory modernization, innovation, and access to financial services. Chairman Crews has an incredibly important role, and we are proud to continue building our relationship with him.”

For MAXX attendees, the fireside chat will offer a firsthand look at the issues shaping the regulatory landscape for credit unions. Crews, along with a panel of other credit union leaders, will share their perspectives on what’s ahead for the industry as well as the NCUA’s role in supporting credit unions and their members.

“MAXX has always been about bringing people together for the conversations that matter,” Stang said. “We’re looking forward to welcoming Chairman Crews to Denver and discussing the issues that matter to credit unions and their members.”
