Fibre Federal Celebrates Juntos Avanzamos Designation with Proclamation Ceremony

Fibre Federal employees, community partners, and guests gathered to celebrate the credit union’s Juntos Avanzamos proclamation ceremony.

Fibre Federal Credit Union celebrated its Juntos Avanzamos designation with a proclamation ceremony on Aug. 21 at its Commerce Financial Services Center in Longview, Wash. The event brought together employees, community partners, and guests to recognize this important milestone and the work that led to the designation.

More than 10% of the communities Fibre Federal serves are Hispanic, and the designation reflects the credit union’s ongoing efforts to make financial services more accessible to Hispanic and Latino members. That includes providing service in Spanish in person, over the phone, through chat and video, on Fibre Federal’s website, and through LiveConnect on-screen service at ITMs.

Fibre Federal has expanded access through ITIN-friendly accounts and lending options, including CUDL auto loans, as well as free first-time homebuyer classes and financial education tools in Spanish. These efforts give members more ways to access financial services, information, and support in the language and format that works best for them.

“We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve financial well-being,” said Carrie Crape, SVP Chief Retail Officer at Fibre Federal Credit Union. “This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring individuals and families have access to the services, support, and opportunities they need to get there.”

Fibre Federal leaders were joined by Carmen Vigil, GoWest’s SVP, Credit Union Engagement & Development, and Pablo DeFilippi, Executive Vice President at Inclusiv, who took part in the official proclamation. Attendees who came from throughout the credit union’s service areas and from as far away as Guatemala enjoyed traditional Mexican folk dance performances, food, and time to connect with one another.

The Juntos Avanzamos designation reaffirms Fibre Federal’s commitment to reducing barriers and providing financial services and education that help Hispanic and Latino members and communities move forward.
