Tucson Federal Credit Union Helps Bring Joy to Little Heroes at Tucson Comic-Con

This year, Tucson Federal Credit Union was the official sponsor of Tucson Comic-Con’s Little Heroes, a special event that welcomes children and families facing serious illness for a morning of connection, comfort, and fun.
For the past 10 years, Tucson Comic-Con (TCC), held Sept. 4-6, has brought a unique comic convention experience to children receiving specialized treatment in Tucson. As the only comic convention in Arizona to offer this experience, TCC partners with Banner Diamond Children’s Hospital, Tucson Medical Center, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, and the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base EFMP to give families with special needs children a VIP pop culture experience.

“Tucson Federal Credit Union exists to empower people and improve lives right here in our community, and Little Heroes is one of the purest examples of that mission in action. For one morning, these kids get to be kids first, surrounded by joy instead of illness, and we’re honored to help make that possible,” said Matthew Gaspari, President and CEO of Tucson Federal Credit Union.
The Diamond Children’s Hospital, Tucson Medical Center, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation help TCC hand pick the recipients for the VIP treatment at TCC. Selected children and their families received a personalized experience with early access to the convention, where they interacted with Tucson’s professional costume groups, received swag bags filled with gift donated by vendors and sponsors, took part in photo opportunities, and interacted with costumed heroes, Star Wars characters, and video game personas.
