Amy Hunter and Amy Nelson Step Into Key NASCUS Leadership Roles

GoWest is proud to congratulate Amy Nelson and Amy Hunter on their new leadership roles with the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS). Amy Hunter has been named Chair of the NASCUS Regulator Board, and Amy Nelson has been named Chair of the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council.

NASCUS serves as the professional association for state credit union regulators and brings together state agencies, credit unions, leagues, and system partners to strengthen the state credit union system. Its work supports collaboration between regulators and credit unions, promotes sound supervision, and advances a vibrant dual charter system that preserves a strong and competitive state charter option.

Their leadership ensures that the GoWest region will continue to have a strong voice in national conversations about the future of the state credit union system, the importance of a competitive dual charter, and the public policy issues shaping credit unions and the members they serve.

Amy Nelson and Amy Hunter bring voices and perspectives that have helped shape the credit union system and strengthen the partnership between regulators, credit unions, and advocates. Their experience reflects the collaborative spirit that has long defined the state charter movement: practical leadership, thoughtful policy engagement, and a shared commitment to ensuring credit unions can continue to innovate and serve their communities.

We look forward to seeing their vision and leadership help shape the future of the state charter movement and further strengthen the role of state-chartered credit unions across the country. Next year’s NASCUS State System Summit is set to take place in Seattle on Aug. 30-Sep. 1, 2027.
