Wyoming Governor Signs Credit Union Priority Legislation
Posted by Patti Hazlett on March 6, 2026
Governor Mark Gordon signed Credit union top priority legislation, House Enrolled Act 19 (original House Bill 75 – Virtual currency kiosk) on Friday. Joining the Governor was the bill’s prime sponsor Representative Clouston, Mary Salas, Blue FCU, Tom Lacock, AARP, Representative Ann Lucas, and Jessie Dafoe, Coinflip.
The bill will be effective immediately thanks to an amendment brought by Senator Tara Nethercott. This will allow the Wyoming Banking Commissioner to immediately commence rulemaking process and potential enforcement action against bad actors.
GoWest will engage in the rulemaking process and will continue to keep Wyoming credit unions informed as the rules proceed. It is anticipated that an emergency set of rules will go into effect immediately and the regular rulemaking process will be initiated and include input from all affected interests.
Please continue to share any examples of fraud your members may have been subject to involving kiosks with Bobbie Frank, VP of Legislative Affairs.
