In February, Solarity Credit Union delivered $10,965 in employee donations to four local non-profit organizations. The contributions, made via payroll deduction throughout 2024, benefitted Solarity’s four community partners: Yakima Humane Society, YWCA Yakima, Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity, and United Way of Central Washington. Throughout 2024, Solarity employees also contributed 1,255 volunteer hours, worth an estimated $50,551.
“At Solarity, our employees are committed to supporting causes that make a meaningful impact,” said Mina Worthington, Solarity President and CEO. “It’s inspiring to see them give generously of their time and resources to these local non-profits. Within our walls and beyond, they are true community servants that make a difference in people’s lives.”
Employee donations included:
- $4,566 to the Yakima Humane Society
- $2,863 to YWCA Yakima
- $2,020 to the local United Way chapter
- $1,516 to Yakima Habitat for Humanity
Solarity is proud to continue supporting these non-profits as community partners in 2025 as they provide critical services to the community and are always in need of donations and volunteers.
Solarity employees also rallied together in 2024 to support numerous local causes including:
- Hosting two blood drives for the Red Cross that collected 63 units of blood
- A school supply drive benefitting kids served by YWCA Yakima
- Holiday toy drives for YWCA Yakima and Sage Advocacy Center in Wenatchee
- YWCA Yakima’s annual holiday adopt-a-family program
- Food drives to re-stock the Selah Naches Food Bank.
In addition to the employee donations, the credit union gave more than $1 million in donations and sponsorships, including $800,000 to YWCA Yakima and $160,000 to Memorial Foundation, thanks in part to several 3-to-1 matching grants from Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.
