Fibre Federal Credit Union and TLC Share 2023 Community and Economic Impact Report

Fibre Federal Credit Union and TLC, which serves 11 counties in Washington and Oregon with financial services and community support projects, recently shared their annual Community and Economic Impact Report.  In 2023, the credit union continued its mission to strengthen and improve the communities it serves through partnerships, sponsorships, and donations. It also maintained its role as a vital pillar of the local economy through its operations, employees, and member-centered structure. 

Economic Impact

Fibre Federal and TLC returned $158.9 million back into the economy and provided 116,000+ members $14.3 million in direct member benefits through lower rates and fewer fees than bank averages. The credit union employed 292 staff members with family-wage jobs and supported 703 total jobs via operations.  

Community Impact

Fibre Federal and TLC donated more than $264,000 to 228 organizations across its service areas and awarded $11,000 in scholarships to members pursuing higher education. The credit union provided free financial education courses and materials to 1,222 adults and 4,441 K-12 students in 2023. Additionally, 130 Fibre Family volunteers made a significant impact throughout the year at 45 events. Volunteers contributed 1,669 hours supporting 94 organizations across the credit union’s service areas.

Employee Giving from the Heart

The credit union also empowered its employees to give back in a meaningful way by allotting donation budgets to individual departments. Staff utilized donation funds in a variety of ways throughout the year to positively impact their local communities. This resulted in over $11,500 in donations back to local organizations including schools, support shelters, animal shelters, senior centers, and other important community groups. And staff payroll deduction donations garnered over $30,000 to non-profits including Credit Unions for Kids, United Way, and American Red Cross.
