GoWest Congratulates NCUA Chairman John Crews, Applauds Focus on Durable Regulatory Relief for Credit Unions
Attendance underscores GoWest’s engagement with national credit union leadership and its commitment to advancing the Credit Union Movement
Denver, CO. (Oct. 28, 2026) — Troy Stang, President and CEO of GoWest Credit Union Association, joined National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman John Crews at his official swearing-in ceremony, congratulating the Chairman and reinforcing GoWest’s commitment to working with federal leadership on priorities shaping the future of the credit union system.
The ceremony follows Chairman Crews’ recent participation in the GoWest MAXX Experience, where he engaged directly with credit union leaders and outlined his priorities for regulatory relief, risk-based supervision, innovation, and a strong credit union system.
GoWest is actively engaging with the Chairman and his team on these priorities, bringing firsthand perspectives from credit unions across its six-state region to inform practical, durable solutions. Chairman Crews’ willingness to listen to leaders on the ground recognizes the diverse needs of credit unions and the importance of preserving a strong dual-charter system that allows them to serve their communities effectively.
“Congratulations to Chairman Crews! We applaud his early focus on meaningful, durable solutions, and a stronger, more resilient credit union system,” said Stang. “His participation at MAXX and willingness to hear directly from credit union leaders and advocates demonstrated the value of showing up and listening to the people closest to the issues. From Idaho to Arizona and Oregon to Wyoming, GoWest’s strength is our hyper-local expertise, our state-led and credit union-informed approach, and our ability to translate what’s happening on the ground into meaningful results at the national level. Congratulations, and we look forward to continuing the dialogue.”
As the federal regulator for federally insured credit unions, the NCUA plays a significant role in the safety, soundness, and continued strength of the credit union system. GoWest will continue working with federal leaders and industry partners to advance a regulatory environment that supports responsible growth, strong institutions and meaningful service to members.
