On Sept. 1, the South Kitsap Chamber of Commerce hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to welcome Sound Credit Union to Port Orchard, Wash. Sound purchased the Port Orchard property in September 2024 and is now ready to begin construction on its newest branch.
“We are thrilled to expand our roots into Port Orchard,” said Don Clark, President and CEO of Sound Credit Union. “Our members have been asking when we would open a branch in this area, and we’re excited to finally say that we’re coming soon. Not only will Sound serve as a trusted financial partner, but we also look forward to being an employer and community partner that helps strengthen Port Orchard.”
This location will be Sound’s 27th full-service branch in the Puget Sound region. Sound currently serves more than 1,600 members who reside in Port Orchard and provides a full suite of financial products and services for consumers and businesses.
“Sound Credit Union has a long-standing reputation for providing trusted financial services while investing in the communities that it serves,” said Jacalyn Williams, Executive Director of the South Kitsap Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to have them in Port Orchard, and we look forward to watching Sound become an important part of South Kitsap for many years to come.”
Construction is expected to begin this week on the branch that will feature an open-concept layout with private meeting rooms, as well as a drive-thru and ATM/ITM services for members and the community. Construction is anticipated to be completed during the first quarter of 2027.
