Kitsap Credit Union Named One of Washington’s Best Workplaces

Kitsap Credit Union has been named one of Washington’s Best Workplaces by the Puget Sound Business Journal, earning recognition among the state’s top 100 workplaces for 2026. The recognition is based on confidential employee feedback collected through a third-party workplace satisfaction survey.

Nearly 200 Washington-based organizations participated in this year’s Best Workplaces survey. Employees evaluated their workplace experience across areas including trust in leadership, communication, teamwork, engagement, and overall workplace satisfaction.

For Kitsap Credit Union, the recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from the people who experience the organization’s culture every day.

“We’re incredibly proud to be recognized as one of Washington’s Best Workplaces, but what makes this honor especially meaningful is knowing it came from our employees,” said Shawn Gilfedder, President and CEO of Kitsap Credit Union. “Their feedback reflects the way our teams support one another, live our values, and come together to serve our members. I’m grateful to every employee who contributes to our culture, supports their colleagues, and brings our mission to life. We’re proud of this recognition, and even more proud of the people behind it.”

Survey feedback highlighted several aspects of the Kitsap Credit Union employee experience, including competitive compensation and benefits, workplace flexibility, and programs designed to support employee well-being, growth and success. These are key elements of Kitsap Credit Union’s employee value proposition and its commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to do their best work.

“Culture isn’t something we can simply put into words or talk about in a meeting. It’s reflected in how people experience their work every day,” Gilfedder said. “Our employees told us that Kitsap Credit Union is a place where they feel supported and connected, and that is something we should be incredibly proud of. At the same time, this recognition challenges us to keep listening, keep learning and continue making Kitsap Credit Union an even better place to work.”

The Puget Sound Business Journal recognized the 2026 honorees at its annual Washington’s Best Workplaces event at T-Mobile Park on Aug. 20. The event marked the program’s 20th year and brought together employees and business leaders from organizations across Washington to celebrate workplace excellence.
