Solarity Credit Union Volunteers Drive Meaningful Change Across Central Washington on Juneteenth

Solarity Credit Union employees turned out in force, with 118 volunteers supporting nonprofit organizations across Central Washington during the credit union’s Juneteenth Community Give Back Day, completing projects that will have a lasting impact on local families, seniors, and animals in need.

“Impact has always been an important part of Solarity’s culture and is one of our core values,” said Mina Worthington, President and CEO of Solarity.

Employees from Yakima, Moses Lake, and Wenatchee volunteered at nonprofit organizations throughout the region, including Yakima Habitat for Humanity, O.I.C. of Washington, Canyon Blooms Petals for Patients, Sunrise Outreach, Yakima Humane Society, YWCA Yakima, and Habitat for Humanity in Quincy.

Throughout the morning, Solarity employees contributed hundreds of hours of collective service by:

  • Preparing 360 boxes of groceries at O.I.C. of Washington for distribution through upcoming food pantry events.
  • Walking more than 60 dogs at Yakima Humane Society while also donating pet food, bowls, and toys.
  • Creating more than 100 floral arrangements at Canyon Blooms Petals for Patients, which were delivered to local senior centers. Volunteers also weeded, prepared garden beds and seeded, and harvested flowers.
  • Cleaning four transitional housing units and assisting with grounds maintenance at YWCA Yakima.
  • Organizing clothing sections, rearranging displays, and stocking new merchandise at Habitat for Humanity in Quincy and Yakima.

“Community Give Back Day allows our team to support the organizations and causes that make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors,” added Worthington. “We are proud to serve these communities every day, and we’re equally proud to roll up our sleeves and contribute in ways that go beyond financial services.”

Community Give Back Day reflects Solarity’s commitment to strengthening the communities it serves through volunteerism, partnerships and local investment. By working alongside nonprofit organizations, employees helped advance projects that will continue benefiting Central Washington residents long after the day concluded.
