SELCO Community Credit Union’s Financial Investigator Honored With Eugene Police Department Partnership Award

Briana Thompson, Financial Investigator at SELCO Community Credit Union, was honored on May 20 with the Eugene Police Department’s (EPD) Partnership Award — an award presented to individuals or organizations who provide meaningful support to the department’s mission through community-oriented policing, prevention, education, and collaboration. Thompson has worked alongside EPD to provide “precise, timely financial insights” that they’ve used to combat financial crimes, strengthen investigations, and support community-focused policing, according to the Eugene Police Department.
“Briana exemplifies the highest standard of community partnership through her commitment to public safety,” said a representatives from the Eugene Police Department in the award introduction. “Her intelligence, intuition, and deep understanding of complex financial systems allow her to identify issues and solutions efficiently, even in the most challenging investigations. Her collaboration is essential to the success of financial crime investigations.”

Thompson has worked as a Financial Investigator for SELCO since 2018. In her role at SELCO, she supports the credit union’s fraud prevention efforts, working to detect and investigate suspicious financial activity and help protect members from fraud. Her role frequently requires coordination with law enforcement agencies, making partnerships like the one with EPD essential in addressing increasingly sophisticated financial crimes.
“Briana offers an invaluable combination of expertise and genuine commitment to protecting others,” said Stephanie Ziegler, SELCO’s Director of Financial Investigations. “She understands not only how to follow the financial trail, but how to work alongside our law enforcement partners to turn that information into meaningful action.
