Colorado Credit Unions Host Senator John Hickenlooper

Colorado credit union advocates met with Sen. John Hickenlooper at On Tap Credit Union in Golden to share how credit unions are serving more than 2.8 million Coloradans, nearly half of the state’s population.

Leaders highlighted key priorities, including preserving the credit union tax status, updating the definition of Community Financial Institution (CFI) in the FHLB statute to include credit unions, modernizing the Federal Credit Union Act, advancing the Taskforce for Recognizing and Averting Payment Scams (TRAPS) Act, and thanking the Senator for his support in securing the release of appropriated funding for the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) program.

A big thank you to Sen. Hickenlooper and the Colorado credit unions that joined the conversation!
