Columbia Credit Union announced a $10,000 donation to the Clark County Food Bank in Washington and the launch of a branch-wide food drive to support families facing food insecurity this holiday season.
Beginning Oct. 31 and running through Nov. 29, donation bins will be available at all Columbia Credit Union branches and operations centers for community members to contribute non-perishable food items. All donations will be collected and distributed by the Clark County Food Bank, which partners with over 50 nonprofits and operates more than 100 distribution sites across the region.
“This initiative was inspired by a story shared during a leadership meeting — a working family forced to choose between buying socks or food for their children,” said Columbia Credit Union President and CEO Lindsey Salvestrin. “It was a stark reminder of the difficult choices many families face every day. With this food drive, donations will help provide nutritious meals and allow families to focus on other essentials like warmth, dignity, and comfort. This is our mission in action — and a powerful way to make a difference.”
The food drive is part of Columbia Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to community support and reflects its mission to make life better for members and neighbors alike. The credit union encourages its members and the public to participate in the drive and help fill plates for those in need.
