GoWest Grassroots and Political Engagement Tools Updated
Posted by Pam Leavitt on May 13, 2025

It’s no secret that credit union advocacy has been running at full speed in 2025 — and it’s not slowing down.
Our advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels are growing bigger, faster, and more critical. The future of our movement is being decided right now — with or without us.
It’s time to ask yourself and your team:
- Where does your credit union’s advocacy engagement stand today?
- What have you already accomplished in 2025?
- Are you on track to meet your fair share PAC goals — or falling behind?
- What new opportunities are you ready to jump into for our movement?
If you’re behind — let’s fix it.
If you’re doing well — let’s do even more.
The movement needs credit unions who are not just showing up but leading from the front.
- Toolbox
To help answer all the questions above — and build your action plan — we’ve updated our Advocacy Toolbox that’s simple to use:
Here’s how to access it:
- Click this link → GoWest Advocacy Toolbox
- Review the tools, go to both Grassroots Engagement and Political Engagement, and laid out by category.
- Find what you need — whether it’s to renew your permission agreement, strengthen payroll deduction, learn more about Advocacy Coordinators and Key Contacts or plan advocacy events.
- Use the contact info inside if you want support tailoring these tools specifically for your credit union.
- Self-assess your advocacy strength — and set goals for where you want to be by the end of 2025.
This is your one-stop shop to build, rebuild, or supercharge your advocacy program.
- Advocacy Videos
Two advocacy videos “Defining Advocacy” and “The Credit Union Difference” are included in the update Toolbox. On the front page of the toolbox, you can click on these videos and use them internally with your team. We will be adding three additional videos by the end of this month! Here are some ideas on how you can use these videos:
- Include in your new staff training tools;
- Share at an all-staff training; and
- Share with your Board of Directors.
The new and improved Advocacy Toolbox is your one-stop shop to build, rebuild, or supercharge your advocacy program!
