GoWest’s CU4Kids Benefit Auction Declared “Event of the Year” by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Holler from the rooftops! Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals just bestowed “Event of the Year” honors on GoWest Credit Union Association and its member credit unions for the CU4Kids Diamond Roundup Benefit Auction. That epic evening during last year’s MAXX gathering in Denver, resulted in $1.2 million in contributions to the 11 CMN Hospitals in the GoWest region. The roundup wasn’t merely a fundraiser; it was a full-blown Glam Rodeo packed with heart and generosity, that continued a decades-long tradition driven by the area’s credit unions.

When it comes to raising money for CMN Hospitals, credit unions in the GoWest region set the standard. They founded Credit Unions for Kids in the mid-1980s and never stopped contributing to help save kids’ lives, fund medical research, and support patients’ families.

Each year, CMN Hospitals recognize one fundraising event that exemplifies excellence in planning, engagement, and impact. The CMN honor for the Event of the Year was presented last week in Orlando during Children’s Hospitals Week and was accepted by Jennifer Huggard, GoWest’s Chief Administrative Officer, and Lexy Strong, Manager of CU Communities.

It’s all because of credit unions.

“It’s an honor to receive this award. All credit goes to the heart and spirit of the collective effort of credit unions across our region,” said Troy Stang, GoWest’s President and CEO. “This is a celebration of years of commitment to kids, families, and hospitals in our communities, and the creative, joyful ways our credit union family continues to give back.”

Time to do it again!

Hundreds of credit union professionals attending MAXX in Portland this fall will have the opportunity to again show their support at this year’s circus-themed, “A Night of Wonder” benefit auction. The event will bring the spirit of the circus to life on Oct. 15 at Portland’s Hyatt Regency. Registration is open for attending the event, sponorship opportunities, and for donors to contribute amazing travel, entertainment experiences, and other items bound to drive bidding through the roof.

“We plan to blow the lid off the big top,” Strong said. “Imagine an enchanted evening where carnival lights dance, ringmasters lead the show, and the spirit of giving takes center stage for this region’s 11 CMN hospitals.”
