In a heartwarming demonstration of community support, Lewis Clark Credit Union (LCCU) is stepping up to help families across the region by paying off or significantly reducing outstanding student lunch balances in local school districts. This initiative aims to ensure that no child in its area has to face barriers to receiving meals at school due to unpaid balances.
LCCU has committed to donating a total of $22,990.16 to alleviate lunch debt for students in five area school districts:
- Asotin-Anatone School District: $1,517.93
- Clarkston School District Food Services: $572.23
- Orofino Joint School District: $5,000
- Lewiston Independent School District: $15,000
- Kendrick Joint School District: $900
“At LCCU, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” said Trisha Baker, President and CEO of LCCU. “Every child deserves access to nutritious meals, and by addressing these outstanding lunch balances, we hope to ease the burden on families and allow students to focus on learning without the worry of meal debt.”
This contribution is part of LCCU’s ongoing commitment to local charities and initiatives that make a meaningful impact on the lives of community members. The credit union’s donation will provide much-needed relief to schools and families, ensuring that financial challenges do not hinder children’s access to school meal programs.
